In January 2001, the Center for Clinical Legal Education (legal clinic) was created on the basis of the Faculty of Law of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University with the financial support of the foundation «Soros-Kyrgyzstan». In 2005, the Center for Clinical Legal Education was approved as an educational, methodological, and production division of the Faculty of Law of KRSU. In September 2009, by order of the rector of KRSU, the Center for Clinical Legal Education, in order to optimize its activities, was transformed into a laboratory of clinical legal education, which became part of the Center for Expert Research and Educational Technologies of the Faculty of Law of KRSU (order № 357-P dated September 4, 2009). In September 2012, the Centre underwent structural changes and is implementing two areas: the everyday law clinic and the common law clinic.
