The Department of Fundamentals of Architectural Design has been operating within the structure of the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Construction of KRSU since April 3, 2002 (Order № 82-p dated April 4, 2002) and carries out educational, educational, methodological, research and other types of work among students, as well as training of scientific and pedagogical personnel and improving their qualifications.
The first head of the OAP department (2002 – 2021) was Candidate of Architecture, and since 2009 Doctor of Architecture, Professor of the Department Yuri Nikolaevich Smirnov. From September 2021 to August 2023, the department was headed by Candidate of Architecture, Associate Professor Alena Vladimirovna Glazunova, who came to teaching after successfully completing her studies in the architectural specialty and graduate school at the faculty.
The first groups of students in the specialties "Architecture" and "Design of the Architectural Environment" began studying at the department even earlier than 2002. Among them were such bright talents as Azimbek Ibraev, Amir Idiatullin, Artem Gorbunov, Galina Bashkova, Daria Sadigalieva, Maxim Kazachenko, Natalya Khramova and others.
Among the graduates studying at the OAP department there were many talented creative personalities who subsequently achieved significant success in the professional field. Alena Gusakova, Alla Kivachitskaya, Dmitry Derevyankin, Zhanayim Baktybekova, Igor Tsarik, Mikhail Votinov, Nikita Chetverikov, Efim Kravchuk, Ravil Murakov, Yulia Alexandrova and many others successfully work not only in Kyrgyzstan, but also far beyond its borders— Moscow (Russia), Astana (Kazakhstan), budapest, Hungary, The Hague, Netherlands, Dubai (UAE) and others.
The main task of the Department of Fundamentals of Architectural Design is to prepare 1st and 2nd year undergraduate students in the areas of 03/07/01 Architecture and 03/07/03 Design of the architectural environment.
During the learning process, students develop coursework and course projects, acquire architectural layout skills, and write abstracts on theoretical academic disciplines.
Traditionally, after completing the study of disciplines, exhibitions of course projects, layouts, as well as departmental educational conferences and quizzes for students are held. In the classrooms and foyer at the OAP department, exhibitions of the best architectural and design projects, models and educational works of students are constantly operating and updated.
The Department of Fine Disciplines was founded in 2002 by Professor, People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic Shestopal Viktor Arnoldovich. It was originally called the Department of Fine Disciplines and Design.
In 2004, the department was separated as an independent structural unit «Fine Disciplines» at the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Construction (Order № 265-p dated 09/07/2004). It was headed by Associate Professor Vladimir Raufovich Faizyev. On December 29, 2021, the department was named after the People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic, Honorary Professor of KRSU Viktor Arnoldovich Shestopal (Order №633-P dated December 29, 2021, based on the decision of the Academic Council of KRSU №4 dated November 30, 2021). New name: Department of Fine Disciplines named after V.A. Shestopal.
The main goal of the department is to teach students the basics of fine arts, the formation of volumetric-spatial and coloristic thinking, the development of imaginative representation and imagination. Directions for bachelor's training: 03/07/01 «Architecture», 03/07/03 «Design of the architectural environment», 03/54/03 «Art of costume and textiles».
In 2012, a museum of fine arts was opened at the department at FADiS, the exhibition of which includes works by People's Artists and Honored Cultural Workers of the Kyrgyz Republic. Museum is a scientific basis for specialized training of students in creative areas of training: architects, architectural environment designers, stylists. On its basis, exhibitions of creative works by teachers of the department, students, lectures on fine arts of the Kyrgyz Republic and nbsp are held; training sessions for KRSU students on aesthetic education, drawing and painting. Every year, on the basis of the museum in November, on the occasion of Science Day, an exhibition of the best plein air works based on the results of artistic practice is held, and in April, as part of the scientific and practical conference of KRSU, an exhibition is organized - a competition for the best creative work among FADiS students.
On November 29, 2021, the museum of sculptural and graphic works of the People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic V.A. was inaugurated at FADiS. Shestopala. The exhibition is dedicated to the sculptor’s 85th birthday. The exhibition includes original sculpture, drawings and photographs of easel and monumental works.
In September 2022, the V.A. Museum. Shestopala was replenished with original works. The museum is open to college and university students, KRSU teachers and all interested visitors.
In April 2023 On the basis of the Museum of Fine Arts at FADiS, exhibitions of creative works of teachers of the department and plein air works of students were organized and held as part of the scientific conference of KRSU.
