The department is staffed by highly qualified specialists with extensive experience in educational, methodological and professional translation work. Educational activities at the department are provided by 10 full-time teachers.
Training in practical command of German language is taught in the disciplines «Practical course» (1-4 semesters) and «Workshop on the culture of speech communication» (5-10 semesters).
The cycle of theoretical courses includes the following disciplines: «Introduction to linguistics», «Fundamentals of linguistics», «History of linguistics», «Theoretical phonetics», «History of the language being studied and introduction to special philology», «Theoretical grammar», «Lexicology», «Stylistics», «Translation theory» for students studying German as a first foreign language. These theoretical disciplines help expand the general linguistic horizons of students, develop a scientific approach to the modern languages studied, acquire theoretical knowledge that facilitates the further study of all aspects of translation and forms general professional competencies.
The scientific and methodological work of the department is carried out in various areas, including the development and preparation of curricula for German language practice and theoretical courses, writing textbooks and selecting teaching materials.
The department supervises the work of graduate students and applicants who have chosen current issues of translation studies as the subject of their research. Coursework and diploma works performed by students are devoted to the main problems of artistic, scientific, technical, socio-political and special translation.
Founder of the Department of Psychology — Aron Abramovich Brudny (01/13/1932 -03/14/2011) - Doctor of Philosophy, Professor.
The purpose of creating the Department of Psychology is to train highly qualified psychologists - specialists in the field of solving complex problems of education, healthcare, culture, management, social assistance to the population, as well as in public, research and consulting organizations providing psychological services to individuals and organizations.
From 1993 to 1998, specialists were trained according to a two-stage education system: «bachelor of psychology» and «psychology teacher». In 1997, the defense of the first bachelor's final works took place. All students continued their education according to the «4+1» - «bachelor's + specialization» scheme to obtain a specialist diploma «Psychologist. Psychology teacher».
In 1998 the first graduation of specialists – psychologists was carried out, currently working in the Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, Kazakhstan and in non-CIS countries - the USA, Germany, Turkey, etc.
In 2001 a part-time (evening) form of education was opened on the basis of secondary and secondary specialized education with a training period of 5.5 years.
In 2004 Advanced training courses were opened at the Department of Psychology for teachers of KRSU, including teachers of other universities of the Kyrgyz Republic. The Department of Psychology regularly conducts advanced training courses with the participation of invited foreign specialists in the field of psychology.
C 2011 the department trains bachelors in the direction 37.03.01; 530300 Psychology, profiles:
Duration of study: 4 years (full-time) and 5 years (part-time (evening)).
In 2014 the Department of Psychology opened one-year advanced training courses in two areas:
Duration of training: 8 months (evening form of training).
Since 2021 the department has been training bachelors in the direction of 03/37/01 – RF, 530300 – KR Psychology.
С 2023 the educational master's program in the field of training began its activities on April 37, 201 – RF; 530300 – KR Psychology, focus «Advisory psychology in the social sphere» was developed in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standard of the Higher Education of the Russian Federation and the State Higher Professional Education of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Department of Psychology maintains close contact with leading Russian psychologists in Moscow and St. Petersburg, whom it attracts to organize the educational process.
