A brief history of the department

The department «Communication Networks and Communication Systems» became part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology of KRSU on September 1, 2007 (order № 209-p dated May 31, 2007). The organizer of the department was Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member. NAS KR, Bekbolotov Tursunbek Bekbolotovich.

The motive for creating the department was the rapid development of communication systems in the republic and the acute shortage of specialists in this field.

Currently, the performance of all the most important functions of a developed society (economy, education, health care, information dissemination, public administration, politics, civil society, etc.) cannot be performed without means of communication, without telecommunications, without information networks. The number of corporate information networks and the number of subscribers to global open global networks are constantly growing. E-mail, distance learning, e-commerce are used intensively. The network of fiber optic and backbone communication lines is expanding. Satellite communications, new communication technologies and new types of office equipment, etc. began to be used more widely. All these factors indicate the importance of training specialists in the field of communications, networks and communications systems for our society.

The role of these specialists in the future will constantly grow, and they will always be in demand because The telecommunications and information technology market is growing at an accelerated pace, and the characteristics of communications equipment are continuously improving. The number of Internet and network technology users is increasing, the telephone network is expanding, and mobile communications are growing rapidly.

The department conducts multi-level training of future experts in the field of infocommunications according to state standards of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic. The main educational program is  Bachelor's  in the direction of 03/11/02 (RF) / 690300 (KR) «Infocommunication technologies and communication systems» with a training profile «Communication networks and communication systems». Training is conducted in two formats: full-time  (term of study – 4 years) and part-time  (term of study – 5 years).

Students who have successfully completed the bachelor's program can continue their professional development in  Master's   in the direction of 04/11/02 (RF) / 690300 (KR) «Infocommunication technologies and communication systems» with a profile «Communication networks». The duration of master's studies is 2 years. Upon completion, the graduate receives a master's degree, confirmed by an appropriate diploma.

General information

Department «Communication networks and communication systems»  began its work as part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology of KRSU on September 1, 2007. Its founder was an outstanding scientist — Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor, corresponding member. NAS KR, Bekbolotov Tursunbek Bekbolotovich.

The need to create a department was obvious: the rapid development of communication systems in the republic was faced with an acute shortage of qualified specialists. Today, telecommunications and information networks — are not just technologies, they are the foundation for all the vital functions of a developed society: from the economy and education to public administration and health care.

We are living in an era of continuous growth:

  • The number of corporate and global information networks is growing.
  • E-commerce, distance learning and mail are actively used.
  • The network of fiber optic and backbone communication lines is expanding.
  • Satellite communications and the latest technologies are being actively introduced.

These factors confirm the critical importance of training highly qualified specialists in the field of communications, networks and communication systems.
