Master's student
An important direction of educational and research activities of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University is the development of master's programs as the second level of higher education. The first master's program was opened in 1999 in the field of «Physics» and 2 years later the first graduation of five masters of physics took place. In 2003, master's programs were opened in the field of «Economics» and in 2005 in the field of «Political Science». The master's program has received a new impetus for its development in recent years in connection with the accession of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic to the Bologna Agreement and the transition to a two-level structure of higher education. On the basis of leading departments and scientific schools of KRSU, active educational, methodological and organizational work is being carried out to open new master's programs, taking into account the needs of the modern labor market and in accordance with the requirements of state educational standards of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic of the new generation.
Currently, there are more than 495 students enrolled in the master's program. The content of educational master's programs meets the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standards of Higher Education of the Russian Federation (FSES VO) and the Kyrgyz Republic. Upon completion of training, graduates receive state diplomas of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic. During its existence, more than 350 masters have been trained who successfully work in research, educational institutions, ministries and departments, or continue their studies abroad.
The general management of master's training in KRSU is carried out by the department of master's training and network forms of training, specific master's programs are managed by scientific supervisors – leading scientists, doctors of science and professors.
The class schedule for each master's program is drawn up at the beginning of the next academic semester. When drawing up a schedule, taking into account possible employment or other wishes of master's students, classes are often grouped into several school days or placed in the evening.
Compared to a bachelor's degree, a significant role in a master's program is assigned to the student's independent work - performing many labor-intensive independent tasks, research work in a semester, completing a master's thesis, as well as undergoing scientific and pedagogical practice.
In the field of master's training, KRSU actively cooperates with leading universities of the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan and other countries through the implementation of joint educational programs, organization «included training» and new forms of interuniversity cooperation. Since 2009, KRSU has been part of the Consortium – CIS Network University, in which our university participates as a partner in joint educational programs in 5 areas of master's training: Economics, Management, Philology, Jurisprudence and International Relations. More than 120 people have already completed training at joint master's programs of the CIS Network University, who received two state diplomas: KRSU and Russian universities – partners: RUDN University, NSU, MGIMO, etc. KRSU is also part of the SCO University and is basic in the field «IT technologies». Participation in these joint programs contributes to the academic mobility of students and teachers, expanding multilateral educational, scientific and cultural cooperation.
