Features of admission to residency
1. Information for applicants: who can apply, deadlines for accepting documents and registration
Important information for those entering residency!
Acceptance of documents begins from June 23, 2025, 9:00 to July 18, 2025, 17:00!
We remind you: in accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic dated September 4, 2023 № 444, admission to residency is possible only after completing an internship.
Who can enroll in residency without an internship:
- Graduates of dental faculties
- Foreign citizens. In some cases, if they studied in programs that do not provide for internship (for example, under the "bachelor + residency" scheme in other countries), if they have recognition of a diploma in the Kyrgyz Republic.
- Specialties that do not require internship according to the regulatory documents of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic (Order № 656 of June 19, 2024):
- Anesthesiology and resuscitation
- Forensic medical examination
- Persons holding a diploma/certificate of completion of residency/internship

Documents for participation in the competition for admission to the KRSU in residency programs are submitted to the admissions committee through the system electronic registration.
Notice!
Resident graduates, when finding employment in the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic, must have a certificate of completion of internship.
2. Conditions of admission
Persons with higher medical and (or) pharmaceutical education, confirmed by a document of higher education and qualifications, and carrying out practical activities in healthcare organizations are allowed to master educational programs.
Admission of citizens with higher medical education to study in residency programs at the expense of budgetary funds of the Kyrgyz Republic is carried out on a competitive basis in accordance with the target admission figures, within the framework of funds allocated by the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Admission of citizens with higher medical education to targeted training for residency is carried out in agreement with the employer (local government body, local healthcare organization).
Admission of foreign citizens and stateless persons to study under residency programs at the expense of individuals and (or) legal entities under agreements on the provision of paid educational services is carried out on a competitive basis in the manner established by the Regulations on the procedure for admission, appeal, transfer and deduction for internship/residency in KRSU in the manner.
3. Benchmarks for the admission of citizens under residency programs
The list of specialties in the residency of the KRSU for which admission is carried out is determined by the current license for the right to conduct educational activities in the relevant educational programs:

4. Required documents for admission to residency:
- the original and a copy of the document proving his identity;
- the original and a copy of the document on higher medical education for specialty programs and its appendix;
- original and copy of the internship document (if available);
- military ID (if available);
- documents showing individual achievements (recommendations from educational and scientific organizations, recommendations from medical organizations, availability of published works, inventions, etc.);
- personal personnel registration sheet (certified from the last place of study or work), those who have not worked for more than one year fill out a personal personnel registration sheet when submitting documents;
- autobiography (completed in person);
- when submitting an application, persons with disabilities present original documents confirming their limited health capabilities.
5. Entrance tests:
The timing of the entrance exam is approved by order of the rector of the KRSU after the completion of accepting documents. All entrance tests carried out for admission to residency programs are completed no later than August 25 of the relevant year.
The exam is conducted by:
- for budgetary (if available) and contract forms of training through interviews with KRSU graduates;
- for graduates of other universities, admission to residency is carried out through testing.
