August 15 is Archaeologist's Day

Today marks Archaeologist's Day - an unofficial holiday for researchers who reveal the secrets of the past. Those who are not afraid to plunge into the depths of history, sometimes literally.One of the important study programs archaeological research in Kyrgyzstan is associated with Issyk-Kul. The settlements under the waters of the lake have been known for a long time, and their serious study began back in the 30s of the last century. Issyk-Kul still contains a lot of evidence of ancient history, and each find can complement or change our ideas about the past.A special place in the preservation of this heritage is occupied by the Historical and Archaeological Museum KRSU. Its collections contain more than two thousand exhibits reflecting the stages of the ancient and medieval history of Kyrgyzstan. Some items are unique and have no analogues in other museums.Over the years, representatives of government bodies of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, official delegations, scientists and public figures got acquainted with the museum’s collection.Congratulations to archaeologists on their professional holiday and wish them new discoveries and important finds!
