20 years of the airbase «Kant»: the KRSU delegation congratulated the military personnel
October 23 in the city of Kant it took place solemn meeting, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the creation of the United Russian Military Base «Kant».
In addition to the personnel and command of the facility, the celebration included a princeyali participation Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Kyrgyzstan Nikolai Udovichenko, representatives of the authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic, delegation of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. Denis Fomin-Nilov delivered a welcoming speech and presented the airbase with books published by KRSU. Acting of the Rector noted the importance of creating an air base and cooperation.
– We will further strengthen cooperation with the air base and give the opportunity to children of military personnel to study for free at the university» – denis Fomin-Nilov said.
The air base has played a key role in ensuring the country's security and air support for the rapid deployment forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in the Central Asian region since 2003. Military personnel of the Russian Federation stationed at the Kant airbase successfully carry out the multifaceted tasks assigned to them and assist their Kyrgyz colleagues in the fight against extremism, terrorism, drug trafficking and organized crime.
