2021st Year of Science and Technology

Russian President Vladimir Putin declared 2021 the Year of Science and Technology. This is stated in the Decree «On holding the Year of Science and Technology in the Russian Federation», published on the official portal of legal information http://www.kremlin.ru/acts/news/64749.

The document notes that this decision was made «in order to further develop science and technology in the Russian Federation».

According to the Decree, an organizing committee will be created to hold the Year of Science and Technology, co-chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko and Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Andrei Fursenko.

The Government of the Russian Federation will have to develop and approve a plan of main events for the Year of Science and Technology; executive authorities of the constituent entities are recommended to carry out the necessary activities during 2021.
