Academic exchange: Kyrgyzstan – Slovakia
According to the draft program «Erasmus Mundus», in 2024 at the Institute of Russian Language named after. A. Orusbayev trained professor at Presov University Lyubomir Guzi – a key figure in modern European Russian studies. Slovakia – is one of the few European countries that highly value the Russian language and Russian culture.An offer was received to participate in a return internship for two employees of the IRY KRSU on a number of language issues.The activities of Lubomir Guzi contribute to strengthening the position of the Russian language in Slovakia and expanding scientific and educational ties with Kyrgyzstan, including KRSU. The scientist spoke at such leading scientific platforms as the Kostomarov Forum, meetings at the MAPRYAL level, international round tables (for example in Minsk), where he established scientific cooperation relations with the director of the Institute of Space Research KRSU Prof. M.J. Tagaev, as a result of which a scientist from Slovakia spoke at the conference «The role of the Russian language and the Cyrillic alphabet in the formation of the cultural code of the inhabitants of Kyrgyzstan and the peoples of Central Asia» (in Bishkek), published scientific articles, including in the journal «Russian word in Kyrgyzstan».It should be noted that Professor Guzi drew attention to the historically established bilingualism characteristic of Kyrgyzstan and neighboring countries, and pointed out that the interaction of Russian and national languages contributes to the formation of a stable cultural and linguistic environment.The Russian language, according to the scientist, continues to serve as an intercultural mediator in the Central Asian region, maintaining the status of a means of scientific communication, education and multinational dialogue.In this regard, there is a need for systematic support for Russian studies, methodological modernization, and international cooperation in training and advanced training of philologists.Particular attention should be paid to the prospects for strengthening scientific ties between Kyrgyzstan and foreign centers of Russian studies, exchange of experience, academic mobility and conducting joint and scientific research.In this regard, work continues to promote Russian studies in the educational and scientific communities of Central Asia at the international level and preserve the Cyrillic tradition.Work on the project «Erasmus Mundus» was continued for the future – 2026– 2027. According to the one-time agreement, it is assumed that scientists from the IRYA KRSU will in turn undergo an internship in 2026 at the University of Presov under the academic exchange program.
