March 3 – National Flag Day of Kyrgyzstan

Since 2010, March 3 has been celebrated in the Kyrgyz Republic as National Flag Day. This holiday symbolizes the independence, sovereignty and unity of the country.

It was on this day in 1992 that the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic approved the state flag, which has since become an important symbol of the state. In 2009, by presidential decree, the holiday was officially established, and since 2010 it began to be celebrated annually throughout the country.

The flag of Kyrgyzstan – is a red banner depicting the sun with 40 rays, in the center of which is the national tunduk. The color red symbolizes courage and courage, the sun – peace and wealth, and the tunduk – unity of the people.
