Day of Science and Innovation at KRSU: ceremonial meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council
At the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B.N. Yeltsin, a ceremonial meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council was held, dedicated to International Intellectual Property Day and the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
International Intellectual Property Day, established by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in 2000, is celebrated annually on April 26. At the event at KRSU, the results of the university’s work in the field of science and innovation were summed up, and prospects for future scientific developments were discussed.
Acting Rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov in his speech emphasized the importance of science and innovation for the development of both the university and the country as a whole. He noted: «Without science there is no education. We must support the achievements that already exist and create new scientific schools that will develop scientific thought and inspire the younger generation».
Sergei Volkov also focused on the need to make breakthrough scientific discoveries in the anniversary year of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, which could become a worthy gift for veterans and future generations. In this context, he emphasized the importance of investing in student startups that will help develop youth and implement their ideas into practice.
Aidar Alymbekov, director of the Innovation Center at Kyrgyzpatent, in his speech spoke about the possibilities for university students to participate in startup competitions and the work of business incubators. He noted that KRSU actively supports innovative projects, emphasizing their significance for the future of the country and its scientific progress.
At the end of the event, the Scientific and Innovation Directorate of KRSU presented awards to representatives of faculties for their contribution to the scientific and innovative development of the university. The «Visiting Professor» project also considered candidates for leading scientists who can make a significant contribution to the development of scientific work at the university.
