Annual University Olympiad in Philosophy

The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies KRSU organized the annual student Olympiad in Philosophy, which for the first time was held in the format of a team intellectual competition. The participants were 1st year students from six faculties: humanities, medicine, natural sciences, law, the Faculty of International Relations, as well as the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Construction.

In the first stage, students solved a philosophical time trial crossword puzzle, including 20 questions from the course «Philosophy». In the second round, a team discussion was held on a current topic: «Artificial intelligence: opportunities and prospects». The teams pre-presented their names, mottos and key positions on the AI issue. Seven study programss were proposed for discussion, including philosophical aspects of machine thinking, ethical and legal issues of AI, its impact on society, limits of opportunity, risks and development prospects.

Following two rounds, the jury decided the winners:
1st place – Faculty of Humanities (A. Terekhina GRV-1-24, A. Gribanov GPPa-1-24, V. Bargatina GLSHO-1-24).
2nd place – Faculty of Medicine (E. Akunov LD-12-23, I. Kopytina LD-12-23, S. Agayev PD-1-24).
3rd place – Faculty of Law (M. Dzhantemirov Yu-1-24, L. Mezhidova Yu-10-24, E. Sarchaev Yu-2-24).
