A film by KRSU students about the heroes of the siege of Leningrad was presented at a commemorative event in St. Petersburg
A commemorative event dedicated to the Kyrgyzstanis who showed heroism during the siege of Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War took place at the St. Petersburg House of Nationalities. As part of the program, a documentary film «No One is Forgotten, Nothing Is Forgotten» was shown, created by students of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. The film tells about the fate of volunteers from Kyrgyzstan who fought on the war fronts and worked in the besieged city.
The event included a display of archival materials, stories about the exploits of the heroes, as well as the performance of songs and poems about the war. Consul General of the Kyrgyz Republic Altynai Sakeeva, Acting Chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations Alexey Silkin and Director of the House of Nationalities Igor Zhukov delivered welcoming remarks.
Particular attention was drawn to the story of Kyrgyz students about the fate of natives of the Kyrgyz SSR who took part in the Great Patriotic War.
Also presented at the event was a multimedia project «Panfilovtsy» dedicated to the feat of the soldiers of the 316th Infantry Division under the command of General Ivan Panfilov. The project brings to life the heroic pages of history in the frame, recalling the courage and dedication of the soldiers who defended Leningrad.
The highlight of the evening was the performance of the song «Victory Day» in Kyrgyz, which left an unforgettable impression on everyone present.
The organizers emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory and passing on this invaluable knowledge to new generations.
