The head of the Chinese Media Corporation Shen Haixiong visited KRSU

General Director and Editor-in-Chief of the China Media Corporation (CMG), member of the CPC Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee Shen Haixiong visited the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University.At KRSU, Shen Haixiong and the delegation accompanying him were met by Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovation Activities Evgeniy Shekunov.Acquaintance with the university began at the main building. The attention of the head of CMG was attracted by the monument to Alexander Pushkin erected in front of the building. From here, the delegation’s route continued within the university - from modern study of China to evidence of the centuries-old history of contacts between China and Central Asia.The first point was the Center for Chinese Language and Culture KRSU. Evgeny Shekunov told the guests that the Center has been operating at the university for more than a quarter of a century and is a platform for studying the Chinese language, history and culture of China.It contains educational and scientific literature on the history, culture and modern development of the PRC. The Center's funds include, in particular, collections of Xi Jinping's works.Then the delegation went to the Historical and Archaeological Museum KRSU. Its holdings include more than two thousand exhibits reflecting various stages of the ancient and medieval history of Kyrgyzstan. Some items in the collection are unique and have no analogues in other museum collections.Museum director Vasily Ploskikh told the guests about the history of the collection and the most significant finds.Of particular interest to the Chinese delegation were exhibits related to ancient Suiab and historical contacts between China and Central Asia. Among them is a Tang-era monument discovered in 1982 at the Ak-Beshim settlement, which researchers identify with ancient Suyab (whale). 碎叶, Souye), one of the significant cities of the Great Silk Road.On a fragment of the pedestal of the Buddhist image, a Chinese inscription has been preserved mentioning the Tang military and administrative figure Du Huaibao (杜怀宝) and Suyab. The find is of particular historical value as material evidence of the presence of Tang military-administrative structures in Central Asia.Thus, the short route along KRSU united several historical layers - from ancient Suyab and the Great Silk Road to the modern study of the Chinese language and culture.The visit to KRSU ended with a group photo of Shen Haixiong, representatives of the China Media Corporation and the university.
