Gulzat Isamatova: cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Russia in the scientific and educational sphere is reaching a new level

The 10th meeting of heads of ministries and departments of science and technology of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is taking place in Bishkek. The rector of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, Sergei Volkov, takes part in the work of the international platform.The event was organized by the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic and brought together representatives of Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as the SCO Secretariat.The main topics of the meeting were the development of scientific and technical cooperation, the implementation of joint research projects, the introduction of innovations and training for high-tech sectors of the economy.Opening the meeting, the Minister of Science, Higher Education and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic Gulzat Isamatova emphasized that interaction between the SCO countries in the scientific and educational sphere is of particular importance in the context of rapid technological development.Speaking about Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation, the Minister noted that interaction between the two countries in the field of science and higher education is reaching a new level. Gulzat Isamatova named the construction of a new campus of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University in Bishkek as one of the most significant joint projects, which will create a modern educational and research infrastructure of international level.SCO Deputy Secretary General Sukhel Khan noted that the organization's states have significant intellectual and human resources potential to respond to modern technological challenges.«Today, artificial intelligence, the digital economy, renewable energy and biotechnology are actively developing. In these conditions, scientific and technical cooperation becomes an important tool for sustainable development and technological sovereignty of the SCO» states, — emphasized Suhel Khan.The meeting participants discuss prospects for expanding cooperation in the field of science, technology and innovation, as well as the implementation of new joint initiatives in the SCO space.
