IRA KRSU AND IRA RUDN: IN SEARCH OF EFFECTIVE WAYS TO TEACH RUSSIAN AS A NON-NATIVE LANGUAGE
On May 14, 2025, a lecture «Teaching Russian in a Turkic-speaking environment: an ethnolinguistic approach» by a leading specialist of RUDN University took place at the Institute of Russian Language KRSU Alexey Andreevich Arzamazov, doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of Russian Studies, Ethno-Oriented Pedagogy and Digital Didactics of the Institute of Russian Language of the RUDN University.
The event took place within the framework of the advanced training course program «Innovative technologies in the theory and practice of teaching the Russian language in the conditions of Kyrgyzstan» (72 academic hours), organized by the Institute of Russian Language named after. A. Orusbaev Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after. B. N. Yeltsin together with the Russian Language Institute of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia. Patrice Lumumba.
Having greeted the event participants in Kyrgyz, the lecturer shared warm emotions born from his first meeting with Kyrgyzstan and its hospitable residents: «Particular excitement when flying to a new country. It's interesting, promising. Cooperation between our universities is organized at a high level. RUDN University actively interacts with IRA KRSU».
In online and offline formats, students discussed current issues: how to find an approach to students and arouse their interest in learning the Russian language, how to correctly respond to mistakes made during the learning process, etc.
In the format of live communication M. J. Tagaev, professor, director of the Institute of Russian Language KRSU, supported his colleague from Russia: «If you start making comments about the incorrect pronunciation of sounds and words, the student will withdraw, this does not interfere with the communication process. You need to be tactful so as not to discourage the desire to learn the language».

As part of the event, CPC students will meet with other specialists from the Institute of Russian Language of the RUDN University.
