The KRSU team took 1st place at the Olympiad «Psychology – my choice»
The First Interuniversity Olympiad in Psychology «Psychology – My Choice» was held in the large assembly hall of the main building of KRSU.
The purpose of the competition is to identify and support talented youth, as well as popularize psychology as a science.
5 teams representing higher education institutions in Bishkek took part in the Olympiad:
- «Hitchhiking according to the MPZ» (KRSU named after B. Yeltsin);
- «Psyche» (KSU named after I. Arabaeva);
- «Psychoshamans» (KNU named after Zh. Balasagyn);
- «Psyland» (BSU named after K. Karasaev);
- «Neural racers» (MUK).
The competition program consisted of the following main stages: team presentation («business card»), homework («Prospects for the development of psychology in Kyrgyzstan», debate-discussion, intellectual game.
As part of the first stage, each team introduced the audience and jury to their participants and the university they represent. All teams showed a creative approach «business cards», showed an attitude towards psychology in society and even conducted a social survey on the city streets.
At the second stage, in reports and during debates, students identified current problems that hinder the development of psychology in Kyrgyzstan: difficulties in translating terminology from Russian to Kyrgyz, the language barrier when consulting the population, the need to develop a market for psychological services.
The intellectual game «tested» participants for knowledge in five main psychological disciplines. The game consisted of three rounds, with a gradual increase in the complexity of the tasks.
As a result, the prizes were distributed as follows:
- First place – KRSU named after B.N. Yeltsin»;
- Second place – MUK;
- Third place – BSU named after K. Karasaev».
