KRSU and NCFU conducted methodological online seminars for teachers of Russian as a foreign language
From April 6 to April 9, 2021, the Institute of Russian Language of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin and the North Caucasus Federal University (Russian Federation, Stavropol) conducted a second educational cycle – training seminars aimed at improving methodological skills in teaching Russian as a foreign language. More than 90 teachers and methodologists from universities in the Kyrgyz Republic attended the seminars.
Opening the second educational cycle, Head of the International Relations Department of KRSU Yu.I. Kalyuzhnaya noted the great relevance of the program, which was jointly implemented by two universities in March – April 2021. She emphasized that supporting the Russian language is an important area of activity for KRSU and wished the participants fruitful work.
The moderator of the seminars, Deputy Director of the Institute of Russian Language KRSU O.L. spoke about the scale of studying Russian as a foreign language in the Kyrgyz Republic. Sumarokov, citing statistical data indicating that teaching RCT is becoming increasingly in demand. Words of gratitude to O.L. Sumarokova addressed her Russian colleagues from NCFU, noting their contribution to the development of cooperation, paving the way to a single educational space.
The seminar participants were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Strategic Development of the North Caucasus Federal University N.V. Avralev. While commending the joint work already done, he expressed confidence that when the quarantine measures to combat the pandemic are lifted, the possibilities for interaction will expand. All seminar participants N.V. Avralev wished useful communication on class days.
Experts from the NCFU Humanitarian Institute – Head of the Department of Russian Speech Culture for the Humanities and Natural Sciences, Associate Professor E.S. acted as lecturers at the seminars. Zhdanova, head of the department of culture of Russian speech for technical specialties, professor S.V. Gusarenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Russian Speech Culture for Technical Specialties O.S. Gorobets.
Over the course of four days, leading NCFU specialists introduced their Kyrgyz colleagues to modern Russian practice-oriented developments in the field of teaching RCT, touching on the most pressing and complex topics. During the seminars, teachers from the two countries exchanged experiences and discussed the difficulties that arise when teaching Russian as a foreign language in audiences of different ages. Russian teachers donated their teaching materials demonstrated during the classes for practical use.
Let us recall that educational seminars held by KRSU together with NCFU were held as part of the implementation of the program of Kyrgyz-Russian cooperation in the field of education and science. Two cycles of seminars, held on March 23-25 and April 6-9 of this year, brought together more than 200 teachers of Russian language and literature of secondary schools and teachers of Russian studies at universities from all regions of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Certificates of completion of methodological seminars will be issued to students during April 2021.
