KRSU and SPbPU approved a joint work plan for 2025
During a working visit and O. Rector of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU) Sergei Volkov to Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU), a meeting of key leaders was held, at which the main positions of the joint action plan of the two universities for 2025 were finally agreed upon.
Vice-Rector for International Activities of SPbPU Dmitry Arsenyev noted that at the beginning of the year, the specialized working groups KRSU and SPbPU had already held a series of online meetings, at which they worked out in detail the main areas of cooperation, determined parameters and calculated key performance indicators. The completed meeting was the final stage in the preparation of this important document.
One of the key study programs joint work will be the development of educational potential. As part of the cooperation, KRSU plans to open network master's programs in construction, software engineering, logistics and technosphere safety. Students of the first year of study will study in Bishkek, and in the second year they will go to St. Petersburg. Upon successful completion of the program, they will receive master's degrees from both universities.
KRSU is also working on creating a distance learning system using the Moodle platform of SPbPU. More than 50 students of a Kyrgyz university will have access to the Polytechnic online laboratory campus. In addition, in 2025, an Online Course Recording Center will open in Bishkek, and SPbPU will provide expert support, training specialists and helping organize the work of the center.
The successful practice of academic mobility of KRSU students at SPbPU, which began in 2024, will continue: 40 bachelors and 10 master's students will be selected on a competitive basis to study at the Polytechnic in the fall of 2025. In addition to semester mobility, short-term advanced training programs for students and teachers of KRSU are provided.
In the field of scientific cooperation, the parties agreed to organize joint scientific research, prepare publications, submit applications for grants and create effective scientific groups. Two major projects will be launched as part of the cooperation.
The first project is related to the work of the high-mountain observatory of the physics of atmospheric processes KRSU. The research will focus on environmental monitoring, modeling of seismic activity and other relevant issues. The second project involves the development of a comprehensive mining development plan in partnership with the company «Alliance Altyn».
SPbPU will also provide KRSU with access to its supercomputer resources for scientific research. In addition, the Kyrgyz university will have the opportunity to use the system «Anti-plagiarism» for scientific and educational activities.
The cooperation plan also includes the creation of a Fire Safety Center on the basis of KRSU with the support of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic. SPbPU will share its experience in organizing such a center, which will be used for training and advanced training of specialists.
Additionally, the parties agreed to create a student design bureau at KRSU, where students will be able to develop applied projects and participate in competitions. A project «VKR as a startup» will also be launched to help students commercialize their final works.
In 2025, KRSU and SPbPU will continue to work together on youth and social projects, including events for the 80th anniversary of the Victory, student spring and other initiatives.
