KRSU at the Almaty Marathon: victory and inspiration for the university team

On September 28, the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University took part in the largest running event in Central Asia — Almaty Marathon, which annually brings together thousands of sports fans from different countries.

The achievement of the head of the sports club KRSU, Julia Furnas —, took first place in her age category, showing an outstanding result and proving that perseverance and fortitude lead to victory, was a particular pride for the university.

Both student representatives and university staff joined the marathon: they successfully covered distances of 42.2 km, 21.1 km and 10 km, confirming KRSU’s desire to promote the values of a healthy lifestyle and develop sports culture among young people.

The university management congratulates Julia Furnas on her well-deserved victory and thanks all participants for their activity, team spirit and worthy representation of KRSU at the international sports competition.
