KRSU at the III Summit of Slavic Universities in St. Petersburg: new horizons of cooperation
Delegation of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B.N. Yeltsin took part in III Summit of Slavic Universities «Slavic Horizon – 2025», which took place on October 2–3 at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The forum has become a key platform for strengthening the partnership of universities in the Slavic space and exchanging best practices in the field of education, science and youth policy.
The summit was attended by representatives of four Slavic universities – Russian-Armenian, Belarusian-Russian, Kyrgyz-Russian and Tajik-Russian, as well as Russian partner universities of the project – RUDN University, Russian State University for the Humanities and St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The central topic of discussion was educational initiatives, youth policy and strategic development of universities.
The official program began with a plenary session in the scientific and innovation complex «Technopolis Polytech», where participants were introduced to a family of exercise equipment «Lean University», allowing to optimize educational processes and increase the efficiency of universities.
On the second day of the forum, three sessions were held: «Youth policy», «Education» and «Methodology for preparing development programs». Issues of modernization of curricula, digitalization, strategic planning and improvement of management practices were discussed. Working meetings of delegations and a scientific and practical conference were held on the development of endowment funds (endowments) at universities.
The participants paid special attention to development of a development strategy for Slavic universities until 2030. Each institution has outlined its priorities.
KRSU presented three key development clusters:

engineering and architectural,

biomedical,

socio-humanitarian.
The university focused on improving the quality of educational programs, digitalization, development of scientific laboratories and modernization of infrastructure.
According to the Vice-Rector for International Affairs of SPbPU Dmitry Arsenyev, the summit became an effective discussion platform for discussing the challenges and prospects for the development of universities in the Slavic space. Head of the Department of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Anna Kalabina she noted that the expansion of academic interaction contributes to the formation of a common educational space.
Summit «Slavic Horizon – 2025» confirmed the role of Slavic universities as centers for the promotion of the Russian language, culture and joint educational programs. Today, these universities educate about 20,000 students, and meetings of this level open up new opportunities for young people in the CIS countries and strengthen the integration of the educational space.
