KRSU at the XVII Assembly of the Russian World
On October 20, the work of the XVII Assembly of the Russian World – the annual representative forum held by the «Russian World» Foundation began in Moscow. In 2025, the main theme of the assembly is – «The fundamental contribution of the Russian World to international development: history, modernity, future».
KRSU is represented by the Director of the Russian Language Institute, Doctor of Philology, Professor M.J. Tagaev and deputy Director of the Institute of Russian Language, Candidate of Philological Sciences A. E. Ernisov.
The event is attended by delegates from 105 countries: Russian language teachers from leading universities, literary scholars, linguists, translators, public figures and diplomats, as well as cultural specialists, media and representatives of the clergy interested in developing humanitarian cooperation with Russia.
Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Foundation «Russian World», Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for the implementation of state policy in the field of supporting the Russian language, Elena Yampolskaya, read out Vladimir Putin’s greeting to the Assembly participants and spoke about the work being carried out by the government body she heads.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the «Russian World» Foundation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov addressed the guests of the assembly with a video greeting. The XVII Russian World Assembly was declared open. This year, the Russian World Assembly is being held at the cinema concern «Mosfilm»; many film masterpieces created there have rightfully gone down in the history of world cinema. The head of the film concern «Mosfilm», People's Artist of Russia Karen Shakhnazarov, addressed the assembly participants. Also within the framework of the assembly, awards from the «Russian World» Foundation were presented to foreign cultural figures and Russian teachers; The finalists of the XXI International Russian Language Olympiad for Foreign Schoolchildren named after. V. G. Kostomarov, where more than 3,000 high school students from 72 countries took part. In continuation of the work of the XVII Assembly of the Russian World, a plenary meeting was held, which was chaired by the Rector of MGIMO of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Anatoly Vasilyevich Torkunov.
On the first day, panel discussions took place within the framework of the assembly: «Russian language as the basis for the formation of identity» and «The contribution of Victory to the new world order: history and modernity».
On the second day of work, October 21, participants gathered at thematic platforms organized in partnership with Moscow State University, the Pushkin Institute, GITIS, Rossotrudnichestvo and TV BRICS, – «The position of the Russian language in the world: education, literature, regional specifics»; «Russian Symphony: bridges of culture and art between peoples»; «New media dimension: expanding dialogue –building trust»; «Live translation or artificial intelligence: pros/cons, areas of use»; «Public diplomacy as a tool for strengthening cultural unity».
As part of the thematic discussion event «Russian language in neighboring countries and the CIS», the director of the Institute of Russian Languages KRSU M.J. spoke at the State Institute of Russian Language. Tagaev with the presentation of a new book «Russian language. Basic course» and monographs «Russian language in Kyrgyzstan: 30 years of the post-Soviet era». Information on the results of the work and proposals of the thematic platform «The position of the Russian language in the world: education, literature, regional specifics», which was held at the State Institute of Russian Language named after. A. S. Pushkin, at the final plenary meeting of the 17th Assembly of the Russian World, read by M.J. Tagaev.
The results of the assembly's work, areas of humanitarian cooperation and main tasks were considered at the final plenary meeting and reflected in the final document.
