KRSU celebrated Russian Language Day and the 226th anniversary of A.S. Pushkin
On the eve of the 226th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin and Russian Language Day, ceremonial events were held at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU). The celebration brought together students, teachers and residents of Bishkek who honor the rich cultural heritage of the great poet.
The event began with the laying of flowers at the monument to A.S. Pushkin at the main building of KRSU. The ceremony was attended by the acting rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov, teachers, students and honored guests, including representatives of Rossotrudnichestvo and the Russian Embassy.
"We are glad that on such an important day we welcome distinguished guests within the walls of our university. Thank you for remembering these dates. For KRSU, this day — is not just a tradition, but an important part of the mission. We are proud that we can contribute to the preservation of the Russian language and strengthening ties between Kyrgyzstan and Russia," Sergei Volkov noted in his speech.
The head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in Kyrgyzstan, Albert Zulkharneev, recalled the importance of Alexander Pushkin in the culture of Kyrgyzstan. “Monument to Pushkin —this is not only a monument to the Russian poet in Bishkek, it is a monument to a genius who became part of the life of the people of Kyrgyzstan”, — he emphasized.
The festive program included many exciting events. KRSU students were awarded personalized certificates for internships at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN). The performance of "Pushkin Waltz" by KRSU students gave a special atmosphere to the holiday. The dance emphasized the greatness of Pushkin's era and added solemnity to the event.
Guests were able to visit an exhibition of portraits of great writers, as well as a presentation of a unique hologram donated by RUDN University.
The holiday ended with a rich concert program, in which artists from KRSU, RUDN University and Rossotrudnichestvo ensembles took part. Classical works of Russian literature and music were performed, as well as national dances and songs.
As part of the events, a round table «Anniversaries of Our Days» was held, dedicated to the life and work of A.S. Pushkina, A.P. Chekhova, S.A. Yesenin and Ch.T. Aitmatova.
Russian Language Day at KRSU once again demonstrated how literature and education unite peoples and help preserve cultural traditions.
