KRSU represented Kyrgyzstan at the international conference «Musical Culture of Siberia»
On October 21–22, 2025, the International Scientific Conference «Musical Culture of Siberia» was held in Novosibirsk, bringing together leading researchers, composers, performers and teachers from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, the USA and China. The forum took place on the basis of the Novosibirsk State Conservatory named after M.I. Glinka with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music.
Kyrgyzstan was represented at the conference by Doctor of Philology, storyteller and manasologist, professor of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University Talantaaly Bakchiev.
In his report «Musical instruments in the epic “Manas”», the scientist highlighted the features of the sound world of the great epic, revealing the connection between oral tradition and musical accompaniment in the Kyrgyz heroic heritage. Bakchiev's research aroused wide interest among conference participants, becoming an important contribution to the study of the cross-connections of the cultures of Central Asia and Siberia.
The KRSU report became part of an extensive program that included more than fifty presentations by scientists from different regions of Russia — from St. Petersburg and Yakutsk to Tomsk and Krasnoyarsk. Among the topics of the conference are — ethnomusicology, traditional song practices, the work of Siberian composers, interaction between East and West in musical culture.
The organizers emphasized that the participation of representatives of Kyrgyzstan strengthens scientific cooperation and contributes to the preservation of the common cultural heritage of the peoples of Eurasia.
