KRSU presented a scientific paper at the IV International Altaic Forum

The IV International Altaic Forum «Slavic-Turkic world in the Greater Altai space: history and modernity» was held in Barnaul. Leading scientists and experts from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and other countries took part in the event.

On behalf of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, the forum was attended by Doctor of Philology, Professor Talantaaly Bakchiev. He made a report in the section «Epic in the culture of the peoples of Greater Altai» «Toponyms of Altai in the epic “Manas”», presenting the results of a study devoted to reflecting the geographical and cultural realities of the region in the Kyrgyz heroic epic.

Professor Bakchiev’s report aroused the interest of the discussion participants and became an important contribution to understanding the common cultural heritage of the peoples of Greater Altai.

The forum brought together researchers in the fields of history, philology, archeology, ethnology and cultural studies. Its key themes are — interaction between Slavic and Turkic peoples, historical and cultural traditions, ethnocultural processes and the role of the epic in preserving identity.

The participation of KRSU in this international scientific event emphasized the importance of the university as a center for academic dialogue and humanities research in the Eurasian space.
