KRSU took part in an environmental raid to monitor air pollution
An environmental raid was carried out in Bishkek aimed at identifying violations of vehicle emissions standards. The Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University took part in the event, using the mobile laboratory for environmental safety monitoring KRSU.
The modern laboratory is equipped with high-precision equipment: gas analyzers «POLAR-2», «SENSON-M», «INFRACAR-M», as well as a dust particle counter, which allows for express assessment of the state of atmospheric air. Air quality and pollution measurements were taken on site.
«In 5–6 minutes, the equipment allows you to determine the concentration of harmful substances in the exhaust gases. This provides prompt and accurate information about environmental pollution», — noted Mirlan Alseitov, acting head of the department of road transport at KRSU.
The raid started in the market area «Kudaibergen». A joint group, which included environmental inspection officers, UPSM and KRSU specialists, stopped trucks and checked them for compliance with environmental standards.
According to the head of environmental engineering supervision for the city of Bishkek, Medetbek Anarbek uulu, one of the main indicators is the refractive index of the light flux, reflecting the density of diesel fuel smoke. The permissible norm is up to 50%, while for some cars it exceeded 90%.
As a result of the raid, administrative protocols were drawn up under Article 234 («Operation of vehicles exceeding emission standards»). The fine is 7,500 soms for individuals and 23,000 soms for legal entities. Since the beginning of 2025 alone, the amount of fines imposed in the city of Bishkek has exceeded 600 thousand soms.
KRSU is actively involved in practical initiatives to improve the environmental situation in the capital. Thanks to the mobile laboratory, the university makes a real contribution to ensuring environmental safety and maintains cooperation with government agencies in the field of environmental protection.
Such raids are planned to be carried out on a weekly basis, including new locations and types of transport.
