KRSU, ROSATOM AND TOMSK POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY WILL DISCUSS THE PROSPECTS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF NUCLEAR MEDICINE IN KYRGYZSTAN
On April 3, 2025, a large-scale educational seminar «Nuclear medicine: trends and advantages, status and development plans in Kyrgyzstan» will be held at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU). Key participants in the event will be representatives of the State Corporation «Rosatom», Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU), the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, leading experts in the field of nuclear medicine and teachers of technical and medical study programs.
The main topics of the seminar are:
Current nuclear medicine technologies and their applications in diagnostics and therapy;
Introduction of radionuclide treatments in Kyrgyzstan;
Training for work in the field of nuclear technology and the role of universities in this process.
The event will include the signing of a cooperation agreement between KRSU and TPU, which will open up new opportunities for students for academic mobility and research in the field of nuclear technology.
Also, a new master's program «Nuclear Medicine (Medical Physics)» is opening on the basis of KRSU, the first intake will take place in September 2024. This program is aimed at training specialists in the field of radiation oncology, radiation diagnostics and radiobiology.
The seminar will be an important step in the development of nuclear medicine in Kyrgyzstan and strengthening the status of KRSU as a leading educational and scientific center in the region.
