KRSU creates the first Academic Center for Kyrgyz Language and Manas Studies in Kyrgyzstan

The Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University consistently implements a strategic development program based on the best practices of the world's leading universities. One of the key study programs transformations is strengthening the national humanitarian component of education and creating new academic platforms for the development of the Kyrgyz language, culture and science.Following modern international models of university management, KRSU is moving from a faculty structure to an institute system. This approach makes it possible to combine education, science and expert competencies in large academic structures that are more capable of more effectively solving the problems of personnel training, scientific research and international cooperation.The effectiveness of the chosen course is confirmed by the university’s position in the QS World University Rankings. According to the results of the KRSU ranking, it entered the 901-950 group, took second place among universities in Kyrgyzstan and entered the top three universities in the republic. In addition, the university successfully passed the institutional accreditation of the independent agency EdNet for a period of five years, confirming compliance with international requirements for the quality of education, management system and strategic development.One of the key results of the transformations will be the creation of the Academic Center for the Kyrgyz Language and Manas Studies - the first and so far the only specialized academic center of this format in the Kyrgyz Republic.The center will become part of the socio-humanitarian institute and will unite educational, scientific, methodological and research activities in the disciplines studied by all undergraduate and specialty students of KRSU: Kyrgyz language, history of Kyrgyzstan, geography of Kyrgyzstan and Manas studies.The creation of the center means a transition to a new model for the development of the Kyrgyz language and national cultural heritage. An independent academic structure is being formed with greater opportunities for scientific research, training of specialists, development of educational programs, implementation of international projects and promotion of the Kyrgyz language in the academic space.The academic center will be headed by the famous Kyrgyz scientist Talantaaly Bakchiev - candidate of philological sciences in the specialty «Kyrgyz literature», doctor of philological sciences in the specialty «Folkloristics», one of the leading researchers of the epic «Manas», holder of the badge «Excellent student of culture of the Kyrgyz Republic» and Certificate of Honor President of the Kyrgyz Republic, awarded state and departmental awards for his significant contribution to the preservation, study and popularization of the national epic «Manas».According to Talantaala Bakchiev, the creation of the Academic Center opens up new opportunities for the comprehensive development of the Kyrgyz language, domestic humanitarian science and national spiritual heritage.«The creation of the Academic Center for Kyrgyz Language and Manas Studies is an important stage in the development of humanities in Kyrgyzstan. The center will become a platform for the systematic study of the Manas epic, the development of the domestic school of Manas and Epic studies, and the training of new researchers, teachers and specialists. Particular attention will be paid to the development of the Kyrgyz language as a language of science, education and professional communication, improving its teaching methods, including for foreign students. In the context of active tourism development, an important area will be the training, including of guides capable of professionally representing the history, culture and epic heritage of Kyrgyzstan to foreign guests. The centre will be a point of attraction for scientists, students and researchers, and will contribute to strengthening national identity, developing academic science and preserving the intangible cultural heritage of the Kyrgyz people».The creation of the center will allow us to unite the scientific potential of teachers of various study programs, expand research activities, and develop international projectsin the field of bilingualismeducation, create modern educational materials, hold scientific conferences and implement academic mobility programs.Another stage of development will be the creation of Kyrgyz and Russian educational spaces with a total area of more than 460 square meters in the main building of the university. Modern multimedia platforms will be used for educational, scientific, cultural and public events, international conferences, exhibitions, lectures and meetings of representatives of science, education, business and the expert community.The preservation, development and popularization of the Kyrgyz language remains one of the strategic study programs of the development of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. The creation of the country's first Academic Center for the Kyrgyz Language and Manas Studies will take scientific and educational work in this area to a new level, expand research, strengthen the position of the Kyrgyz language in the academic environment, develop international humanitarian cooperation and create a modern platform for studying and promoting the national cultural heritage of Kyrgyzstan.
