KRSU co-produced the film «Save the Immortal», which combined cinema, history and education

The International Multimedia Press Center «Russia Today» hosted a press screening of the feature film «Saving the Immortal» and a creative meeting with the creators of the film. The project is dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day and has become a notable event on the cultural and humanitarian agenda.The film is of particular importance for the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University. The film was co-produced by representatives of the university — first vice-rector Gulnara-Klara Samat and head of the additional professional education program Lyudmila Kukoba, which ensured a close connection between the project and the educational process and industrial practice.The script is based on the real story of Mendysh Omuraliev — a Red Army soldier from Kyrgyzstan who died in 1942 during the battles near Rzhev. The idea for the film arose after the opening of a memorial to Kyrgyz soldiers. The plot connects different eras: the main character - a young extreme blogger from the 21st century - finds himself in a mysterious time loop, where his fate is directly related to the story of a soldier of the past. The key idea of the film is personal responsibility to history and memory.Filming took place in Kyrgyzstan and Belarus. The work was carried out in the difficult conditions of the Tien Shan highlands, as well as on the large-scale scenery of a village near Rzhev, specially built for the film. The actors performed the stunts themselves, without the participation of stuntmen, which became one of the distinctive features of the project.The film became for KRSU not only a cultural, but also a strategic educational project. The university views it as a starting point for the development of new study programs training in the field of cinema and media. In the future, it is planned to create specialized educational programs, as well as launch professional retraining programs in the field of management and economics of film production and creative industries.In addition, educational intensives and master classes for students are being discussed, covering the full cycle of film production - from script development to production and promotion of a media product. Thus, KRSU's participation in the film «Saving the Immortal» goes beyond one project and forms a long-term educational and cultural agenda focused on preserving historical memory and integrating education with the practices of the modern media market.
