KRSU strengthens humanitarian ties: acting Rector Sergei Volkov took part in the working trip of the Russian Ambassador to the Talas region
On April 30, 2025, acting of the Rector of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University Sergei Volkov took part in the working visit of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic Sergei Vakunov to the Talas region. The visit was timed to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and was aimed at developing humanitarian ties between the peoples of Russia and Kyrgyzstan.
In the villages of Kyzyl-Zhyldyz and Kyrgyzstan, ceremonies were held to transfer modern computer equipment to schools — part of a large-scale education support program implemented with the assistance of the Russian Embassy and the Central Asia Capital fund.
During the visit, Sergei Volkov noted that KRSU is actively involved in projects to improve the qualifications of Russian language teachers in the regions of Kyrgyzstan, including the Talas region. «It is important for us that teachers feel supported and have access to modern educational tools and methods. This is a contribution to the common cause of preserving the cultural and linguistic space», he emphasized.
Special attention was paid to preserving the common historical memory. In Talas, the transfer of archival documents about the heroes of the Great Patriotic War — immigrants from the region took place. The event was attended by relatives of war participants, schoolchildren and representatives of local authorities.
The Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University will continue to actively participate in humanitarian and educational projects that help strengthen friendship between our countries and unlock the potential of the youth of Kyrgyzstan.
