KRSU strengthens educational cooperation: delegation visit to the gymnasium named after. Makarenko

The Russian delegation, which included the rector of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University Sergei Volkov, visited the gymnasium № 6 named after A.S. Makarenko in the city of Osh.

The delegation was headed by the head of the Russian Presidential Administration for Interregional and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, Igor Maslov. It also included Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture Liliya Gumerova, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Nikolai Valuev, representatives of government bodies of Kyrgyzstan and deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh.

The guests were received by the gymnasium staff, numbering 109 teachers. During the visit, the «Russian Teacher Abroad» program was discussed, the material and technical base and classrooms were assessed, and views were exchanged on the training of teaching staff. According to school officials, there is a shortage of geography and chemistry specialists.

Particular attention was paid to the issue of transition to a 12-year education system. The meeting participants noted that the new format will require changes in curricula, strengthening the profile of high school and advanced training of teachers.

The visit became part of the program for the development of humanitarian cooperation. The «Russian Teacher Abroad» project, implemented in Kyrgyzstan since 2019, already covers more than two hundred specialists and helps strengthen the human resources potential of the country’s schools.
