The International Theater Laboratory «Hamlet Beyond Hamlet» brought together young artists from Russia and Kyrgyzstan

From July 24 to 29, the International Theater Laboratory «Hamlet outside Hamlet» — a large-scale creative project organized by the Union of Theater Workers of the Russian Federation with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Union of Theater Workers of Kyrgyzstan was held on the coast of Lake Issyk-Kul.The site of the laboratory was the educational and health complex of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University «Zhashtyk».The project brought together young actors, directors and teachers from Russia and Kyrgyzstan and was aimed at developing international cultural cooperation, professional growth of young theater workers, exchanging creative experience and searching for modern stage solutions in the interpretation of the classical heritage.The main theme of the laboratory was the tragedy of William Shakespeare «Hamlet».Three youth theater groups from the Russian Federation took part in the work of the laboratory —studio theater «Behind the Scenes» (St. Petersburg), studio theater «Gastion» (Kursk) and the SHEST theater (Zhukovsky, Moscow region), as well as the Youth Slavic Theater «MOST» of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University.For six days, the participants worked under the guidance of leading theater specialists in Russia. The project manager was Alla Zorina (Moscow, Union of Theater Workers of the Russian Federation), creative curator — director and teacher of GITIS Tatyana Tarasova, Elena Glebova became the theater critic of the project. Directors Anatoly Trukhin, Irina Nikityuk, Olga Bogomazova and Elena Zhikhareva also worked with the participants.The program included workshops, creative labs, professional discussions, and co-production work. Participants exchanged experiences, got acquainted with various theater schools and jointly looked for modern approaches to reading a classical work.On the final day of the laboratory, the participants were visited by the rector of KRSU, Sergei Volkov. He thanked the young artists, directors and teachers for their inspired work and noted the high level of the productions presented. Addressing the participants, the rector emphasized that the moment when the audience gives the artists a standing ovation is priceless, and their work evokes sincere respect and gratitude.«What you do on stage when the audience stands up and gives you a standing ovation is — worth a lot. We really appreciate and love our theater. Despite all the difficulties, he maintains a high professional level, and today's laboratory was another confirmation of this. We will continue to support our theater», — noted Sergei Volkov.At the end of the meeting, the rector presented the participants with memorable gifts, thanking them for their contribution to the development of youth theatrical art and the strengthening of Russian-Kyrgyz cultural cooperation.The holding of an international theater laboratory on the basis of the educational and health complex «Zhashtyk» became another example of the fact that KRSU acts as a platform for the implementation of large international educational, scientific and cultural projects uniting young professionals from Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
