Scientific and practical conference «Religious studies in Kyrgyzstan: state, problems and prospects»

A scientific and practical conference «Religious Studies in Kyrgyzstan: Status, Problems and Prospects» was held at KRSU, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Department of Religious Studies. The event was organized jointly with the UNESCO Department for the Study of World Cultures and Religions.

Over 25 years of operation, the Department of Religious Studies of KRSU has established itself as a leading educational center, graduating more than 250 highly qualified specialists in the field of religious studies. The history of the department is closely intertwined with the history of the Center for Religious Studies, which was created at the department to implement the practical activities of beginning and experienced religious scholars. Today, the Center has gained independent significance, continuing to remain a place for young specialists to gain practical experience.

During the conference, current issues of the state of religious studies in Kyrgyzstan were discussed, existing problems were identified and prospects for the development of this science in the region were outlined. Participants at the event emphasized the importance of further strengthening scientific and educational ties, as well as the need to develop new study programs research in the context of global change.
