During the visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, the delegation of the Russian Federation inspected the site that is planned to be allocated for the construction of a new campus of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU).
Key project parameters are
• Location: a promising area in the village of Kashka-Suu, Chui region;
• Total area: more than 30 hectares;
• Meeting standards: campus design is conducted with global higher education standards in mind;
• Implementation time frame: completion of construction is planned by 2030 in accordance with the decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin;
• Financing: funds for the implementation of the project will be provided in the budgets of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic.
An important aspect of the discussion at the meeting of the co-chairs of the Intergovernmental Russian-Kyrgyz Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation was the decision to provide the engineering infrastructure of the campus. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Adylbek Kasymaliev supported the initiative to include in the country's budget expenses for the design and construction of utility networks with their connection to the boundaries of the site.
Acting Rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov noted the significance of the project for the university and the higher education system of Kyrgyzstan:
"The construction of a new campus — is a strategic task for KRSU and the entire educational system of the republic. It will become not only a modern space for learning, but also a centre for the region's scientific, technological and innovative development, opening up new opportunities for students, teachers and researchers'.
