One of the authors of the most popular article in the European journal «PAI» is the scientist KRSU!

In the Official Journal of the European Academy of Allergology and Clinical Immunology «Pediatr. Allergy. Immunol» («Pediatric allergology and immunology») in 2022, a scientific article by a group of scientists from different countries, including Kyrgyzstan (represented by KRSU professor Shayirbek Sulaimanov) entitled «COVID COVID COVID COVID COVID-19 in children with bronchial asthma». Based on the results of 12 months from the date of publication, the above article was recognized as the most popular!

In 2020-2021 Scientific materials on the study of clinical manifestations of coronavirus disease – COVID-19 among children with asthma were scarce. Therefore, the authors directed this study to evaluate the clinical manifestations and outcome of COVID-19 in children with asthma and the relationship between the use of anti-asthmatic drugs in this pathology and the outcomes.

Scientists have concluded that over-reliance on inhaled bronchodilators may be inappropriate. The use of IHCS is safe and should continue in children with asthma throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before making such a conclusion, the Global Asthma Network (GAN) conducted a survey among GAN centers, including those in the Kyrgyz Republic (Department of Pediatrics KRSU named after B. Yeltsin). Data collection took place from November 2020 to April 2021.

14 GAN centers from 10 countries, incl. Kyrgyzstan, provided data on 169 children with asthma infected with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).
