From quality to international recognition: KRSU experts spoke at the industry conferenceRepresentatives of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University took part in the industry conference «Development of scientific journals of the Kyrgyz Republic: quality, visibility and international integration», organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Higher Attestation Commission and the Kyrgyz National University named after Zh. Balasagyn.KRSU was represented at the conference by Doctor of Philosophy, expert in the field of academic writing and scientometrics Denis Brusilovsky and deputy editor-in-chief of the journal «Russian Word in Kyrgyzstan» Natalya Sorochaikina.One of the key events of the plenary part was the report of Denis Brusilovsky and the representative of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic Aida Khashimova «Digital transformation and the visibility of science: how Kyrgyz magazines can express themselves on the global market». Participants discussed ways to increase the international competitiveness of domestic scientific publications, the introduction of modern editorial standards, as well as the prospects for their inclusion in the international scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science.Special attention was paid to the development of the scientific journal KRSU «Russian word in Kyrgyzstan». Deputy editor-in-chief Natalya Sorochaikina presented the main directions of development of the publication. Today the journal is included in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) and is included in the list of peer-reviewed scientific publications of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Kyrgyz Republic.According to representatives of the editors, the magazine is consistently expanding international cooperation. Among its authors are researchers from leading universities in Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Belarus, Tajikistan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Spain, Serbia and other countries.During the panel discussion, participants discussed issues of publication ethics, the development of the peer review institute, digitalization of editorial activities, increasing the citation rate of scientific publications and mechanisms for their state support.As a result of the conference, recommendations were prepared aimed at improving the quality of Kyrgyz scientific journals and their integration into the international scientific space. Representatives of KRSU took an active part in the discussion of proposals regarding the further development of the national system of scientific publications.
