The CSTO Parliamentary Assembly completed the conference and announced new initiatives to strengthen security
An important international scientific and practical conference dedicated to the issues of security and sustainable development of Central Asia under the auspices of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly and the Jogorku Kenesh has ended. During the conference, participants discussed key challenges and threats related to global, regional and national security, as well as prospects for Eurasian integration.
KRSU played a significant role in organizing the conference, preparing and holding sections and round tables that discussed international security, sustainable development, counter-terrorism, and the role of scientific and educational institutions in addressing these issues. The university provided a platform for discussing current challenges, such as the threat of extremism, the need to harmonize the legislation of the CSTO member countries, as well as strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation within the CSTO and other international organizations. Now preparations are beginning for the next stage of scientific and practical activities, which will be devoted to the implementation of Kyrgyzstan’s priorities within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). Among the main study programs upcoming events are
- Deepening cooperation with relevant structures of the CIS and SCO in the fight against international terrorism.
- Strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation within the CSTO.
- Harmonization of the legislation of the Member States and development of interaction with the parliamentary structures of other countries and international organizations.
- Consolidation of the expert potential of leading state scientific institutions and higher education organizations to improve the quality of monitoring, analysis and forecasting of the situation in the CSTO area of responsibility.
- Analysis of the influence of destructive ideology among young people and development of a set of measures to prevent it.
- Development of cooperation within the CSTO to effectively counter challenges and threats, as well as improve the image of the Organization.
KRSU continues to be actively involved in the organization and conduct of such events, as well as in the formation of scientific and educational solutions for sustainable development and security in Central Asia. It is expected that the upcoming scientific and practical events, planned for the spring of 2025, will contribute to the further strengthening of scientific and expert interaction, as well as the development of comprehensive solutions on current issues of international security.
