The Polytechnic University and KRSU continue their cooperation to modernize engineering education
On January 16, a working meeting was held between representatives of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) and the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU). The meeting was held via videoconference and was devoted to discussing plans for further modernization of engineering education at KRSU.
Among the meeting participants were SPbPU Vice-Rector for International Affairs Dmitry Arsenyev, Vice-Rector for Educational Activities Lyudmila Pankova, Head of the Project Office «Slavic Universities» Nikita Golovin. On behalf of KRSU, the event was attended by acting rector Sergei Volkov, vice-rector for educational activities Elena Devyatova, acting deans of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology Nikita Komartsov and Faculty of Architecture, Design and Construction German Lotsev.
Main areas of cooperation
Colleagues discussed the activities that will be included in the updated interaction roadmap for 2025:
development of network master's programs in the areas of «Construction», «Software Engineering» and «Transport Systems»;
expanding access for KRSU students to SPbPU resources for distance learning;
launching a pilot course «Fundamentals of project activities»;
increasing academic mobility of students and teachers.
Particular attention was paid to the admission of engineering graduates study programs KRSU to the master's program at St. Petersburg Polytechnic University through Rossotrudnichestvo quotas and the Open Doors Olympiad. As part of joint programs, students will be able to study at both KRSU and SPbPU, receiving three diplomas: Russian and Kyrgyz diplomas KRSU and a diploma from SPbPU.
Expanding academic mobility
In 2025, it is planned to increase the number of KRSU students who will undergo semester-long internships at SPbPU. From September 1, 2025, their number will increase from 30 to 50 people. The programme will cover both undergraduate (40 students) and postgraduate (10 students).
By March 15, 2025, the parties agreed to clarify the areas of preparation and curricula, and by May to sign agreements on new programs.
