Festive events dedicated to the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Second World War

On the eve of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, students and employees of KRSU took part in commemorative events dedicated to the preservation of historical memory and honoring war heroes.One of the central events was the participation of representatives of KRSU in the grand opening of the restored monument to teachers and students of school №7 who died on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. The memorial was updated as part of the «Victory Monuments» project and restored to its historical appearance.The ceremony was attended by teachers, schoolchildren, city residents, representatives of universities, public organizations and the historical student club «Berkut». Participants honored the memory of the heroes with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the foot of the monument.Representatives of the educational and expert community, including the director of the Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage KRSU Leonid Sumarokov, delivered welcoming words. During the event, the importance of preserving the memory of the people's feat and passing on the historical truth to the younger generation was noted.The performances of the creative team KRSU gave a special atmosphere to the memorable event. University students performed songs from the war years and also took part in a concert program together with school students. For their contribution to the preservation of historical heritage and active participation in the event, representatives of the university were awarded certificates of honor.In addition, on May 6, representatives of KRSU and participants of the historical student club «Berkut» took part in the international event «Fire of Memory», which took place in the Cholponbai Tuleberdiev Park in Bishkek.The event was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic Sergei Vakunov, Mayor of Bishkek Aibek Dzhunushaliev, deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Gulya Kozhokulova, representatives of public organizations and residents of the capital.Participants in the ceremony honored the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the monument to Cholponbai Tuleberdiev. A particle of the Eternal Flame was delivered to Bishkek by three-time Olympic champion, TV presenter and deputy of the Moscow City Duma Maria Kiseleva.The participation of KRSU students and staff in such events is an important part of the university’s work to preserve historical memory, patriotic education of youth and strengthen the connection between generations.
