A representative of KRSU took part in the international project «Epics of the Peoples of the World»

Director of the Academic Center for Kyrgyz Language and Manas Studies of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University Talantaaly Bakchiev took part in the presentation of the international project «Epics of the Peoples of the World», which took place as part of the national holiday Ysyakh Olonkho in the Kobyai region of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).The project brought together representatives of five republics of the Russian Federation — Yakutia, Altai, Bashkortostan, Tyva and Khakassia, as well as Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. Its goal is — preservation, popularization and translation of national epics, as well as the development of international cultural and scientific cooperation.During the presentation, fragments of national epics were heard in seven languages. For the first time, performers, storytellers and researchers from different regions and countries presented their works on one platform. Translation work on the project was coordinated by a group of scientists led by Deputy Chairman of the State Assembly (Il Tumen) of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Alexander Zhirkov.According to State Advisor of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Andrei Borisov, the launch of the project was an important event that opens up new opportunities for interaction between regions and countries in the field of preserving traditional culture.A special place in the program was given to the Kyrgyz heroic epic «Manas». Speaking at the presentation, Talantaaly Bakchiev emphasized that the preservation and popularization of epics is the common task of peoples with unique oral traditions.«We, the peoples of the republics, have the greatest arsenal of words — our epics. We are the guardians, creators and successors of this greatest word that was given to us by our ancestors. We must pass it on to our descendants with dignity, distribute and promote it to other countries and peoples. We have a living epic, and its main witness — a storyteller that we should value», — noted the director of the Academic Center for Kyrgyz Language and Manas Studies KRSU.The participation of a representative of KRSU in the project confirmed the active role of the university in the preservation and popularization of the Kyrgyz language, epic «Manas» and national cultural heritage. The Academic Center for Kyrgyz Language and Manas Studies KRSU develops scientific research, educational programs and international humanitarian projects aimed at studying and popularizing the epic heritage.
