Professor KRSU made a plenary report at the VI Novikov Readings at RUDN University

Professor of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, director of the Institute of Russian Language Mamed Tagaev took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference «VI Novikov Readings. Word, text, discourse in functional and cognitive aspects», which took place at the Faculty of Philology of the Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia.The scientific forum was dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Russian linguist, Professor Leonid Novikov. This year the conference brought together about 350 scientists from 30 countries, becoming one of the largest international platforms for discussing current issues of modern linguistics.For many years, the Novikov Readings have brought together researchers from the world's leading universities, among the best according to the international QS ranking. Among the co-organizers of the conference were the Russian Association of Linguists and Cognitive Scientists and the State Institute of Russian Language named after A.S. Pushkin, Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, Tambov State University named after G.R. Derzhavin, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Belgrade University.▪️ The participants focused on modern directions in the development of theoretical, functional and cognitive linguistics. Experts discussed issues of cognitive semantics, analysis of literary text and discourse, intercultural communication, semiotics of culture, sociolinguistics, as well as the use of modern technologies in language research.Participants from Russian and foreign universities worked in eight thematic sections dedicated to current areas of modern linguistics. As a result of the conference, scientific articles published in the journal «Cognitive Studies of Language» were prepared based on the presented reports.Plenary sessions with the participation of leading scientists occupied a special place in the program. Among the invited speakers are — Professor of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, Director of the Russian Language Institute Mamed Tagaev, who represented Kyrgyzstan at the international scientific site.The participation of the scientist KRSU among the main speakers of the conference confirms the high scientific authority of the university and the demand for research by its specialists in the international academic community, and also helps strengthen cooperation with leading scientific and educational centers in Russia and other countries.
