Rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov took part in a discussion about cultural sovereignty

Rector of KRSU Sergei Volkov took part in a panel discussion «Cultural sovereignty in the civilizational dialogue between Russia and the West» at the XII St. Petersburg International Forum of United Cultures.Opening the meeting, its moderator, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia Konstantin Mogilevsky proposed discussing what cultural sovereignty means in the modern world.«Is a compromise between the ideas of globalisation, the ideas of a common world and traditional cultures achievable? Are there risks of loss of cultural sovereignty and what do these processes entail for the world and for individual countries?» — he noted.The discussion was included in the program of the section «Cultural Sovereignty in the 21st Century», organized by the Russian Historical Society and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia. More than 50 experts from Russia and ten foreign countries perform at eight sites of the section. Its curator is — Konstantin Mogilevsky.The forum takes place in St. Petersburg from September 24 to 26, 2026 under the motto «United cultures — common values». Its organizers are — the Government of Russia, the Ministry of Culture of Russia, the Government of St. Petersburg and the Roscongress Foundation.
