A republican student competition on constitutional proceedings was held in Tokmok
The Faculty of Law of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, together with the Constitutional Court of the Kyrgyz Republic and the International University of Central Asia, held a republican competition «Game trials on constitutional proceedings».
Seven teams from six leading universities in Kyrgyzstan took part in the competition. Participants demonstrated a high level of training, mastery of legal instruments and interest in developing practical skills in the field of constitutional law.
The competition took place in two stages. In the written round, teams prepared memoranda for both sides of the alleged dispute. This was followed by three oral rounds, modeled on the actual process of considering cases in the Constitutional Court.
The work of the participants was assessed by a jury consisting of current judges of the Constitutional Court of the Kyrgyz Republic, representatives of the Higher School of Justice at the Supreme Court, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Bar, a notary and a public foundation «Civics».
The following were the winners of the competition:
1st place — Ala-Too University,
2nd place — International University of Kyrgyzstan,
3rd place — Kyrgyz National University.
A separate nomination «Best Legal Style» was awarded to the team of the KRSU Faculty of Law. It included Dmitry Smirnov, Laurika Mezhidova, Myrzabek Dzhantemirov, Evelina Suleymanova and Arsen Bolotov. The team was prepared by Damir Baygazieva, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department of International and Constitutional Law at KRSU.
The competition has become one of the key platforms for the development of student legal practice and strengthening interaction between the country's universities in the field of legal education.
