«Sambo is family, family is strength, strength is peace»: KRSU and the Sambo Federations will prepare a roadmap for cooperation

A meeting was held at the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU) with representatives of the International Sambo Federation, the Sambo Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Sambo Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan. The parties discussed the development of student sambo, training infrastructure, holding competitions and training camps, as well as cooperation in the field of science and sports medicine.KRSU was represented at the meeting by Evgeniy Shekunov, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovation Activities. The delegation included the President of the International Sambo Federation Vasily Shestakov, the President of the Sambo Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic Aziz Ibraev, the President of the Sambo Federation of the Republic of Tatarstan Ivan Egorov, as well as representatives of the sports community of Kyrgyzstan and Russia.Evgeny Shekunov noted that sambo is important not only for the physical training of students, but also for the formation of character, discipline and responsibility.«Sambo helps in developing a person’s character. It would be correct to combine all the proposals made today into a road map - with specific activities, deadlines and responsibilities», Shekunov said.The parties agreed to work out a draft roadmap for cooperation. It is expected to include the development of the sports club KRSU, the organization of competitions and training camps, educational and scientific projects.Special attention was paid to the prospects of the sports club named after Vitaly Gordeev. President of the Sambo Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic Aziz Ibraev noted the potential of KRSU for training high-level athletes.«Today the guys compete at university competitions and take prizes, but this is not the limit. With systematic work, in three to four years, Asian champions and prize-winners of world competitions may appear here», Ibraev said.The participants also discussed the possibility of holding an international tournament in memory of Vitaly Gordeev with the participation of KRSU. It is proposed to consider the educational and health complex «Zhashtyk» as a site for summer camps and training camps with the participation of athletes from Kyrgyzstan and other countries.President of the International Sambo Federation Vasily Shestakov announced his readiness to support the KRSU initiatives. University representatives were also invited to take part in the international scientific congress on sports, medicine and law.«Not only sports, but also scientific cooperation is of interest to us. We are ready to send our specialists and develop joint research and publication work», Shekunov noted.A separate topic of the meeting was the educational role of sports. Participants emphasized the importance of sambo in working with youth, preserving historical memory and strengthening ties between people from different countries.«Sambo is family, family is strength, strength is peace. Sambo is a tool that helps people communicate and make friends», Shestakov said.Following the meeting, the parties agreed to determine specific activities, deadlines and responsibilities within the framework of the future road map.At the end, KRSU handed over a model of a memorial plaque, which is planned to be installed after the gym is renovated and prepared for training.
