Seminar on sports medicine in Karakol: opening up new horizons for future doctors
Summer – this is not only a time for relaxation, but also an opportunity for active trainings and seminars.
4th year students of the Faculty of Medicine of KRSU, together with the Ministry of Sports and Culture of the Issyk-Kul Region, organized and took part in a seminar on sports medicine. The workshop addressed important topics such as pharmacological support for athletes, pre - and post-competition training, and first aid practices in training and sporting events.
The seminar held in Karakol was intended for doctors, nurses and coaches and was aimed at introducing such an important area as «sports medicine». Participants discussed issues related to the pharmacological provision of athletes, training methods before and after competitions, and also taught practical first aid skills in training and sporting events. The seminar was a valuable and educational experience for all participants, and we hope that the acquired knowledge and skills will be in demand in their professional activities.
«It wasn't hard to teach, but we were worried. For the first time they performed in front of experienced people. There weren’t any particular difficulties, everything went with a bang. And the impressions are only wonderful. The city surprised with its cleanliness and especially cool weather in such an unbearable summer – not like we have in Bishkek», – seminar participant Sirozhidin Abdullaev reported.
Seminar participant Bogdan Ryazantsev spoke about his impressions: «In general, there were a lot of experiences, especially when we were told that there would be video filming of the seminar – still, it’s one thing to pass discipline in classes and quite another at a seminar. The difficulty was that in addition to doctors and nurses, there were trainers at the seminar who had never heard some of the medical terminology, so we most often had to explain, as we were told in classes at the university, in our own words and clearly. We were very worried, but everything went very well. Such events broaden your horizons and allow you to contact not only people in your medical specialty».
