Sergey Vakunov: «The future of Eurasia today is largely formed in Central Asia»

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic Sergei Vakunov, welcoming the participants of the off-site session of the forum «Primakov Readings», emphasized the special importance of holding the event in Kyrgyzstan.«Today, it is in Central Asia that processes are especially clearly manifested that will largely determine the future of the entire Eurasian continent. These are the strengthening of regional cooperation, the change in the transport map, the emergence of new centres of economic activity and the growth of the region's international political potential».According to the diplomat, Kyrgyzstan is an active participant in these processes, so it is especially important that the discussion of the future of the region takes place here — with the participation of politicians, scientists, government officials, entrepreneurs and representatives of the expert community of Russia and Kyrgyzstan.Sergei Vakunov also noted the high level of Russian-Kyrgyz strategic partnership, emphasizing that the sustainable development of economic ties, joint investment projects and the work of institutions such as the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund create a solid basis for further strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
