Sergey Volkov was approved as rector of KRSU for a five-year term

Since August 1, 2025, the position of rector of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after the first President of the Russian Federation B.N. Yeltsin is officially occupied by Sergei Yuryevich Volkov. The corresponding order was signed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation on July 29, 2025 (№ 10-01-08/146).

Volkov’s appointment for a five-year term — from August 1, 2025 to July 31, 2030 — was the result of a competitive procedure that took place in accordance with the decisions of the Attestation Commission of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and the Governing Council of KRSU, the meeting of which took place on June 27, 2025.

Sergey Volkov has been acting rector since October 2024 and during this time has established himself as a proactive and strategically thinking leader. Under his management, KRSU implements large educational and infrastructure projects, actively develops international cooperation and expands scientific initiatives. Volkov's appointment creates a solid basis for the further development of the university as one of the leading educational centers in Kyrgyzstan.
