Strength of spirit and memory: an employee of KRSU reached the top of Komsomolets in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Victory

On May 1, 2025, the traditional international May Alpiniad was held in the Kyrgyz State Natural Park «Ala-Archa», dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The event brought together about 1,300 participants from Kyrgyzstan and other countries who made a massive ascent to Komsomolets Peak with a height of 4,204 meters.

Among the participants was the head of the international cooperation department of the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU) Yulia Kalyuzhnaya. Having overcome a difficult route, she reached the top, paying tribute to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War.

«It was a challenging climb, but an unforgettable experience. For me, it was both a personal challenge and a way to celebrate an important date in my own way», — said Yulia.

The Alpiniad is held annually on May 1 and is considered one of the most popular mass climbs in the country. This year it was held in a significant anniversary context, reminding us of how important it is to preserve memory and maintain traditions — including through sports and an active lifestyle.
