Sad news: Academician Vladimir Mikhailovich Ploskikh has passed away

At the age of 89, the outstanding historian, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic, professor died Vladimir Mikhailovich Ploskikh.

The name of Vladimir Mikhailovich is rightfully inscribed in the golden chronicle of Russian historical science. He was a recognized specialist in the field of archeology, ethnography and source study of Central Asia. His scientific works became fundamental for studying the history of the Kyrgyz people, statehood and cultural heritage of the region.

Vladimir Mikhailovich was not only a world-famous scientist, but also a talented teacher, a wise mentor for many generations of students, undergraduates and graduate students. He was distinguished by the highest professionalism, erudition, dedication to science and genuine love for his work.

He devoted his life to the preservation and study of the historical and cultural heritage of Kyrgyzstan, took part in archaeological expeditions, and prepared hundreds of scientific publications, monographs and textbooks.

The bright memory of Academician Plosky will remain in the hearts of his colleagues, students, friends and everyone who knew and appreciated him as an outstanding scientist, citizen and person.
